The Downeast Bicycle Club promotes all types of cycling in the Downeast, Maine and Acadia National Park area. We welcome all ages, abilities and interests—roadies, mountain bikers, touring bikers, commuters, families, cyclocrossers, Carriage Road riders, recreationalists, etc.

Downeast Ride of Silence
Wednesday, May 21st is the date of the Ride of Silence, a bicycle ride in honor of Dino Tortu, Jina Haslam, and others who have lost their lives or been injured due to automobile crashes with bicyclists. We have planned a 10-mile bicycle route and a shorter (approximately 4 mile) bicycle trip on that day at the Head of Mt. Desert Island. We will meet at the Bar Harbor KOA campground (the one at the stoplight at the Head of the Island) at 5:15 p.m. on May 21st. We hope to follow the ride with a cookout at the campground, depending on whether they have the facilities to keep us dry in case of rain.
Helmets are required.

For current club members (dues paid), they are $74.99 + tax. For the general public, they are $99.99 + tax. $20 from every jersey goes to the club.
